Pennywise and Pound Foolish (Frantic Atlantic MG)
Release date: TBA

“It takes time to find what you are looking for”…Todd explains when asked about his journey as a singer/ songwriter. This is a common response that many artists can relate to. Time spent grinding away at a dream that has no right or wrong procedure because every artist’s journey is different. Todd has spent the past few years in and out of the scene, splitting duties between the East Coast circuit, the producer’s chair, and co-writing with a slew of artists and writers. “It has been time well spent” says Todd, “I have had a chance to work with some amazing people who all have different goals, careers, and aspirations in the industry and it has opened my ears to some new sounds”.

Todd’s forthcoming EP, Pennywise and Pound foolish, is a sonic and lyrical departure from the freshmen effort; it is raucous, emotional, and at times uneasy. Tracks like “Run” gives listeners full exposure to the depths of generational poverty in the rural south but the vanishing point approaches quickly as strong, redemptive choruses wash away the writing on the wall. The unreleased “Young and Dumb” finds a new home on this record as it somehow manages to appear a close cohort to the new songs. Todd asserts that the sound is a direct product of the time-off. “I have had time to let material marinate and see if it stands up to my expectations after sitting untouched for extended periods.” Todd has shown that, even though his creativity has remained the same, his process as a writer and recording artist has matured. “It’s all about getting the sound that you feel out of your head, and into your music. I think I’m getting closer to doing this every day.” Pennywise and Pound Foolish promises to be a tenacious signal that reveals a new layer every time you spin it, but at its core, you’ll find its creator.
